Full Journal pdf2024-03-14 House Journal Page 1820 HB 316 The following, which was held from the March 13 calendar (page 1805), was read the second time: HOUSE BILL NO. 316 "An Act relating to law enforcement requests for wireless telephone location information in emergencies." with the: Journal Page STA RPT CS(STA) NEW TITLE 7DP 1726 FN1: ZERO(DPS) 1726 Representative Saddler moved and asked unanimous consent that the following committee substitute be adopted in lieu of the original bill: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 316(STA) "An Act relating to law enforcement requests for wireless device location information in emergencies; and providing for an effective date." Representative Eastman objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, CSHB 316(STA) was adopted. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Allard: Page 1, following line 3: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to read: SHORT TITLE. This Act may be known as the Kelsey Smith Act." Page 1, line 4: Delete "Section 1" Insert "Sec. 2" 2024-03-14 House Journal Page 1821 Renumber the following bill section accordingly. Representative Allard moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. There was objection. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" Objection was heard and withdrawn. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 2 was adopted. Amendment No. 3 was offered by Representative Eastman: Page 2, line 17, following "of": Insert "(A)" 2024-03-14 House Journal Page 1822 Page 2, line 18, following "47 U.S.C. 332;": Insert "or (B) a satellite communication service;" Representative Eastman moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 3 be adopted. Representative C. Johnson objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 3 be adopted?"
